ECC is a leading Norwegian company, 100% government owned, specializing in digital maritime navigation solutions. Established to enhance safety and efficiency atsea, air and on land, we provide state-of-the-art services that give customers quality chartbackgrounds and efficient visualisation for demanding operational environments.

The company

Initially a part of the Norwegian Mapping Authority, ECC was established as its own corporation in 1999. Since then we have grown to over 28 employees, providing cutting-edge geographical information systems (GIS) technology, applications and solutions to our customers. We also play an important role in the development and testing of the new IHO S-100 chart standard and associated S-100 data products.

Board of Directors

Tina Steinsvik Sund - Chair

Tina Steinsvik Sund works as an independent advisor and Board Member. She is the Chair of the Board at Electronic Chart Centre AS and also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Finanstilsynet (FSA Norway). She has previously held management positions at Sparebank 1 SMN, Intel Capital and Accenture, and has more than 20 years of experience in board roles, including serving as Chair of the Board for Helse Midt-Norge and Ren Røros.

Nicolai Jarlsby - Member

Nicolai Jarlsby works as independent advisor and Board Member as well as investor in his own capacity. He is involved in a broad range of companies in Norway and internationally. He was educated at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Knut Svein Ording - Member

Knut S. Ording currently holds a position as Senior Principal Consultant and Innovation Manager with DNV (Det Norske Veritas). He has long since held ties in the maritime industry, and at the beginning of his career joined the Royal Norwegian Navy, holding various positions, including Commanding Officer. Knut’s career then turned to Marine Cybernetics, Communications and Control Systems where he headed up different departments and progressed to other Management and Consulting Positions within DNV.

Michelle Williams - Member

Michelle Williams is an experienced executive officer with an officer education from the Royal Norwegian Navy and 12 years of military service, including operational services on both submarines and frigates. She currently serves as Business Transformation Lead at Aker BP, where she is responsible for driving company-wide business transformation initiatives. With experience across technology, logistics and supply chain, she combines strategic insight with practical execution.

Loyalty and conflict of interest

Every individual is required to comply with the legal rules and ethical guidelines that apply to the activities, as well as to follow orders issued by superiors. The duty of obedience entails no obligation to follow orders to do anything illegal or unethical. In order to implement measures to avoid or limit losses or damages, all employees are required to report to their employer any circumstances of which she or he is aware that could cause the employer, employee or the surroundings to suffer losses or damages.
