The NaVida app available on AppStore, enables users to prepare for trips outdoors. Its newest feature is an overview of areas prone to mountain avalanches. This allows you to check any dangers in the terrain via your iPhone or iPad. The exposed areas are shown with red-pattern on top of other background charts, for instance topographic, whilst historical events are indicated on the chart with information about recorded avalanches and loss of human lives.

The background charts on NaVida are provided by Statkart, whilst the specialized layer of avalanche exposure is based on data from Norges Geologiske Undersøkelse, also available on skrednett.no. NaVida in itself also consists of the official Norwegian Maritime Paper Charts and topographical charts from Open Street Map. NaVida is available from here.

To add the avalanche notification layer to NaVida, go to m.ecc.no from your iPhone / iPad device and choose the additional chart layer Snoskred. This link will initiate the addition of the layer in NaVida and can be shown via the "layers" button available to the top left of the NaVida application.
