ECC Presents S-102 Demonstrator for Bathymetric Data
2018-03-08
At the first Geomatikkdagene to be held in Stavanger in 15 years, ECC will both present the S-102 Demonstrator for visualisation of bathymetric data and explore the importance of the project.
In 2017 the ECC and Kongsberg Digital created a research project to enable testing of the S-102 data in an operational environment. The presentation will explain the background for the research project and will showcase the S-102 Demonstrator.
The research project is scheduled for completion in the autumn of 2018 and will focus on identifying opportunities around the distribution of bathymetric map data / S-102 data as well as the development of the demonstrator, which will enable both testing and visualisation.
S-102 data gives rise to a new way of thinking, providing the opportunity to create value added and innovative developments for safe navigation and navigational planning. Bathymetric data can also be used in other areas including data analysis, planning and safety and rescue operations.
The project also plans to contribute to a better understanding of how, by using depth data, we can provide an improved basis for resource savings, environmental considerations, reduced costs, inreased security and increased efficiency among users of map data, via a comprehensive and dynamic overview of the seabed.
Come and join us on Tuesday 13th March at 1705, at what will be a very fascinating presentation and demonstration.
